Florida Drivers License

There are many ways to lose your Florida drivers license. One of the most common reasons that Florida drivers lose their license is that they fail to properly respond to a traffic summons or ticket.

Traffic Ticket

When you receive a Florida traffic ticket it's important that you pay attention to your options and respond with the allotted time. Ignoring a ticket will not make it go away. In fact the opposite will happen - the traffic ticket will become a bigger problem with additional fines for being late and you could lose your drivers license.

30 Days to Pay Your Fine

Most Florida traffic tickets allow you 30 days to pay your fine to the traffic court in the county where you received the ticket. This is typically the Clerk of Courts office. When paying your Traffic ticket in most cases you have to specify if you are pleading guilty, want to go to traffic court, or if eligible are electing to attend a driver improvement (traffic school) course.

Clearing a Traffic Ticket

If you fail to meet the original schedule to pay your traffic summons fine then you should take steps to clear the ticket from your driving record as soon as possible. Don't wait to receive a letter from the state of Florida informing you that your drivers license is suspended.

If Your Drivers License is Suspended
