Orlando Overview

Orlando is located in Central Florida with 1.5 million residents and more than 40 million visitors a year. It is one of the busiest tourist destinations in the world with Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and a host of other attractions.

In addition to the City of Orlando, there are surrounding cities that many people refer to as Orlando including Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Maitland, Kissimmee, Lake Mary, Sanford, Union Park, and Winter Park. The counties that make up the Orlando area include Orange County, Osceola County, Seminole County, and Lake County.

Orlando's winter season averages highs of 72 degrees and average lows at 50 degrees. The summer season is sweaty with average highs peaking at 92 degrees and the lows at 73 degrees. The summer is when the humidity kicks in with the average precipitation measuring over 7 inches. The rainy afternoons creates the thick, humid air. The winter season averages below 3 inches precipitation which lends itself to an enjoyable break from the humid summers.
