Florida Colleges

Florida has 11 state colleges and universities. The biggest are The University of Florida (UF Gators), Florida State (FSU Seminoles), University of Central Florida (UCF Knights), University of South Florida (Tampa), and Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton).

Florida A &M - Agricultural and Mechanical University

Located in Tallahassee, Florida A & M University is a fully accredited public college. It offers 62 bachelors degrees in 103 majors. It also offers 36 masters degrees, two professional degrees, and eleven PHD degree programs.

Florida Atlantic University - Various Locations

FAU has campuses throughout Florida in Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale, Davie, Dania Beach, Port St. Lucie, and Jupiter.

Florida Gulf Coast University - Fort Myers

Florida Gulf Coast University is located in Fort Myers and offers small class sizes for it's 37 undergraduate and 20 graduate programs.

FIU - Florida International University - Miami

Located in Miami, Florida International University is recognized as one of the nations top 100 public universities. FIU has students from 130 countries and had over 75 Million dollars in research grants in 2002-2003.

FSU - Florida State University - Tallahassee

Florida State is one of the oldest and largest universities in Florida. Located in Floridas capitol city, Tallahassee, FSU has over 38,000 students and offers diverse programs ranging from liberal arts and Law to Computer Science and it's recently accredited medical school. It's also home to the Florida State Seminoles - nationally recognized football, basketball, and baseball programs.

New College of Florida - Sarasota

The New College is Florida is known as the honors college. With a small student population of only 692 students, the New College of Florida is looking for highly motivated and self directed students. It is located in Sarasota Florida.

University of Central Florida - Orlando

The University of Central Florida began as Florida Technological University in 1963. Today it is home to over 42,000 students in the eastern part of Orlando. UCF offers a variety of degrees ranging from Education and Business Administration to Engineering, Computer Science, and Biomedical Science.

UF - University of Florida - Gainesville

The University of Florida is the largest university in Florida and fourth largest with over 48,000 students. UF has diverse colleges including agriculture, business administration, dentistry, education, engineering, law, medicine, pharmacy, and veterinary. The university of Florida Gators are a nationally recognized athletic program in football, baseball, basketball, and other sports.

University of North Florida - Jacksonville

The University North of Florida is located in Jacksonville. It's home to over 14,000 students and offers degree programs in arts and sciences, business, computing sciences and engineering, education and human services, and health.

University of South Florida - Tampa

USF, the university of South Florida is located in Tampa Florida and has over 42,000 students. USF is the second largest university in the southeast, has a nationally recognized research ranking, and offers diverse degree programs including education, engineering, marine science, nursing and others.

University of West Florida - Pensacola

The university of West Florida. UWF has over 9,000 students and offers degrees in business, education, computer science, math, engineering and others.
